About the Artist

Diana Vincent’s interest in art began with pencil-drawing horses as a little girl, but she did not pick up a paint brush until decades later. After twenty years traveling as a military spouse, Diana now resides in coastal North Carolina, and is inspired by the beauty around her. Her paintings often depict wildlife, local sea/landscapes, the faces & places from her many travels, and of course horses. Diana is a self-taught artist with no formal art education or training, and is now motivated by the simple joy of creating art to share in her local community. Less than 10 years into painting, her signature detailed style has been recognized through juried shows, international competitions, local publications and awards. “Getting lost in the details is what inspires me to paint. If you enjoy detailed artwork, please check out my art locally and online.” Diana’s love for wildlife and her proximity to the ocean continually inspire her to depict sea animals in her paintings helping to magnify awareness for the fragile state of these magnificent creatures.

In addition to the very detailed acrylic paintings Diana is known for, she also works in a variety of mediums including gouache, inks and fluid acrylics. Through experimentation, Diana has found a great outlet in creating large fluid-art pieces (no brushes used) that depict the colors and movement of the ocean. These pieces have hung in local galleries and are sought after for commissions. “I enjoy the fact that art is always evolving and that fluid-art appeals to so many art collectors for its very contemporary feel with earthy, atmospheric and aquatic qualities.” Her work often combines the magic of fluid-art in the form of a background, featuring a detailed painting of marine life on top.
